EcoFellows is a sustainability‑focused expert organization whose specialists help municipalities, companies, and project partners turn sustainability goals into concrete solutions across circular economy, sustainable lifestyles, outdoor and nature services, sustainable mobility, and marketing and communications. In our work, we combine multidisciplinary expertise with local, national, and international collaboration networks built over more than 20 years.

EcoFellows office is located in the very center of Tampere, just off Central Square. Our visiting address is Puutarhakatu 11 A, 33210 Tampere.

A responsible tomorrow is built through partnership. The internationally unique ecopartnership model was launched in Pirkanmaa in 2002, when the City of Tampere and its municipal enterprises, together with Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto, founded Ekokumppanit Ltd as part of the Tampere city group. Since the beginning of 2009, Tampere Energia has been the company’s third owner.

For more than two decades, we have worked with our partnership network to make sustainability efforts genuinely impactful. Today, we develop sustainability services in Pirkanmaa, across Finland, and internationally in Europe — with partnership still as our guiding strength.

Tampere’s goal is to become carbon‑neutral by 2030, and at Ekokumppanit we work toward that goal every single day. Alongside our own values, our work is guided by the values of the City of Tampere Group. And that suits us well — we are proudly and openly a Tampere‑based company.

Our owners are the City of Tampere, Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto Oy, and Tampereen Energia Oy. Our operations are led by a five‑member board appointed by our owners. The City of Tampere is represented by Henri Backman (Chair), Harri Kallio, and Joanna Leino. Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto is represented by Pasi Muurinen, and Tampereen Energia by Jukka Joronen. Our CEO, Tiina Sarkkinen, is responsible for our operational management.
