PIHI - Pirkanmaa low carbon membrane solutions

2018-2021

The PIHI – Pirkanmaa low-carbon film solutions project developed more ecological material solutions for film-like plastic products, e.g. for the food, packaging and toilet paper sectors. The project also created a fast and diverse research and development environment for companies to make it easier to develop and bring lower-carbon products to market in the future.

Sustainable tourism hub

2018-2020

The goal of the Sustainable Tourism Hub project was to make the Särkänniemi area one of the visible drivers of the city’s low-carbon work in the field of tourism. In the two-year project, a concentration of low-carbon tourism services and an open development platform were built in the Särkänniemi area.

Lakesperience

2018-2020

The aim of the Lakesperience project was to connect the lakes of Tampere (Finland), Linköping (Sweden), Tartu (Estonia) and Burtniekku (Latvia) as a common tourist destination. The project offered lake tourism companies the opportunity to develop their services in all seasons.

Energy-wise cities project

2018-2020

The 6Aika Energy Wise Cities project, funded by the EU’s European Regional Development Fund and the Uusimaa Federation, aimed to make 6Aika cities international role models in energy-efficient housing, zero-energy construction, implementing a diversified energy system, monitoring energy efficiency and guiding users.

Sorvaamo project - Professional Maintenance Service for Support service

2018-2020

Sorvaamo project promoted a sustainable way of renovation, trains workers and helps the unemployed target group to find employment in the sector.

Lake nature Center Finland

2017-2019

“Järviluontokeskus – Lake Nature Center Finland” is the government’s flagship water tourism project, which is preparing a new type of service and business model for a centrally located lake and nature center. The project is targeted and coordinated from Tampere, but the results are purposefully replicable.

CircHubs, The circular economies of the future

2018-2019

The CircHubs, Circular Economy Centers of the Future project is developing 6Aika-urban circular economic centers . Ekokumppanit are developing control tools and criteria to guide the circular economy of building construction in Hiedanranta. In addition, the building stock of Tampere as a materials bank is examined and alternatives for the utilization of demolition materials are mapped.

Preliminary study on the establishment of a Terälahti biogas plant

2016-2017

The project investigated whether there would be conditions for a biogas plant in the area. The project also looked at what kind of digestible biomass can be found in the area – based on the information obtained, a realistic technical potential was calculated.

The RETU project sought answers to regional small-scale power plant solutions and the development and marketing of low-carbon products and services.

2014-2016

The three-year TARMO + improved the energy efficiency of housing companies in the Tampere region.

Residential areas in the Tampere region to be energy efficient was TARMO + ‘s predecessor project, in which housing companies worked to improve energy efficiency in the suburbs.

TRKK

2012-2014

The Tampere Building Culture Advice and Training Center project, ie TRKK, nurtures building culture in Pirkanmaa in 2012-2014.The work will be continued by the Building Culture Center Piiru.

Ekokoti (Ecological home)

2013-2014

The project produced and developed services that support and motivate households and housing corporations in mitigating climate change.

Ystäväkylä (The friendly village)

2013-2014

Ystäväkylä (The friendly village) approached villages and the city, e.g. promoting food, tourism and cultural services in the surrounding areas 2013-2014.

Movement control counseling promoted muscular movement, public transport and car pools in a variety of ways in 2012-2015.

Lähilämpö (Local heat)

2011-2012

We promoted the introduction of renewable local energy in the rural area of the Tampere region in 2011-2012.

Puhtaat vedet (Clean waters)

2012-2013

The Preliminary Study on Clean Water as a Resource in Pirkanmaa (2012-2013) also highlighted water bodies as an economic and social resource. The work continues in the form of the Lake Nature Center.

During 2009-2013, we compiled an operating model for improving energy and environmental issues. 11 village houses participated in the project.
