Ekokumppanit toimii hankkeen osatoteuttajana
Interreg Central Baltic -ohjelman osittain rahoittaman DEAP-hankkeen tavoitteena on edistää kotitalouksien energiatehokkuutta tarjoamalla omakotitaloissa asuville käyttäjäystävällinen digitaalinen tarkistuslista. Tämä työkalu yksinkertaistaa energiatehokkuuden parantamiseen liittyviä toimenpiteitä ja ohjaa asukkaita vaiheittain prosessin läpi heidän teknisestä osaamisestaan riippumatta.
DEAP – The Digital Energy Advisory Process (DEAP) project is designed to address the pressing territorial challenges in the Central Baltic region, such as aging building stock, fragmented energy advisory services and low public engagement in energy efficiency initiatives. The project focuses on empowering households in detached dwellings with a digital checklist that simplifies energy efficiency improvements and guides residents through the process, irrespective of their technical expertise.
Energy efficiency in residential buildings, especially older detached houses, remains a common challenge in the Central Baltic area. These houses often lack energy performance certificates and where such data exists, it does not capture the behavior of residents—an essential factor in energy consumption. Rural and shrinking areas in particular face cost-effective energy renovation challenges. The DEAP project aims to fill these gaps by providing an inclusive, scalable energy advisory model that incorporates both behavioral changes and technical renovations.
Cross-border cooperation between Finland and Estonia is key to the project, allowing for shared expertise and the development of a model adaptable to varying regional needs. The revised Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) highlight the importance of one-stop-shops for energy advisory services, which DEAP contributes to by integrating a digital advisory process that can be easily adapted to other regions.
DEAP’s digital advisory checklist streamlines the data-gathering process, allowing energy advisors and auditors to access crucial building and behavior information in advance. This eliminates the need for advisors to manually collect data during initial consultations, thereby reducing the advisory timeline and enabling more precise, personalized energy-saving recommendations. By freeing up advisors’ time, the DEAP model increases the capacity for serving a wider range of clients and improves the overall efficiency of the energy advisory process.
For energy auditors, the inclusion of behavioral aspects in the checklist means that audits can now incorporate user behavior data, allowing for more accurate assessments and tailored recommendations. This makes the advisory process more robust and relevant to real-world scenarios.
