In early September, our project team travelled to Sundsvall, Sweden, where we presented the results, insights, and conclusions of the Regenera Water Sport Project as part of Euro’Meet 2026, the largest biennial gathering of the European outdoor community, organised by the European Network of Outdoor Sports (ENOS).
Located in central Sweden, Sundsvall provided a fittingly nature-rich and scenic setting for this major outdoor sports event, which brought together hundreds of professionals and experts in outdoor recreation, physical activity, and sport from across Europe.
The Regenera Water Sport Project enjoyed a strong presence throughout the event. We showcased the project’s findings in the poster exhibition and facilitated a workshop where we gathered valuable perspectives from outdoor professionals on the future development of regenerative sport. Most importantly, we shared our message about how physical activity and sports in blue spaces can actually contribute to more sustainable and regenerative practices.
The event was organised by Svenskt Friluftsliv, the umbrella organisation for Swedish non-profit outdoor recreation associations. The organisers provided an excellent framework for a highly productive and inspiring seminar experience, which also served as the final event of our project.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the organizers, as well as to all participants who showed interest in our project and contributed to the discussions and development of regenerative approaches.
