The Regenera Water Sport project’s observations and conclusions will be presented in Sundsvall, Sweden, in September.
The European Network of Outdoor Sports’ EURO’MEET is the European outdoor community’s largest biannual get together, this year hosted by Svenskt Friluftsliv, the Swedish umbrella organization for the country’s 27 non-profit outdoor organizations. Taking place in Sundsvall, from 8 to 10 September, the event will bring together up to 300 participants committed to outdoor sports sustainable development, providing them with a conference format that encourages interaction, networking and high-quality knowledge sharing.
The diversity of the participants – outdoor sports experts, decision makers, outdoor sports organisations representatives, practitioners, researchers from the outdoor sports sector, national agencies, academic institutions, local authorities, not for profit organisations and businesses from all over Europe opens many doors for experiential learning and sharing and mainstreaming sustainable outdoors sports from many perspectives.
This event will allow the partners of the Regenera Water Sport project to disseminate their observations and conclusions they acquired as well as showcase the results they achieved over the last 3 years of the project. As the project comes to an end, it will take advantage of the diverse audience to deliver targeted messages, recommendations and suggestions based on the project’s findings and recommendations. In order to do so, with the facilitation of ACR+, a dedicated workshop will take place on the morning of 8 September titled ”Policy recommendations for sustainable and regenerative (water) sports and a sustainable future”. The objective of the workshop is to explore policy needs that could lead to improvements and establishment of sustainable and regenerative (water) sports – leisure, amateur and professional. This workshop aims to explore the challenges that prevent (water) sports from being more sustainable and environmentally-friendly and give those participants with a high commitment to environment – biodiversity, pollution prevention, waste and litter prevention, to share their views, success stories and other thoughts that would lead to a policy brief summarizing those.
