On January 25th – 26th 2024, we had the great honor to kick off Regenera Water Sport -project in beautiful Banyoles, Spain. The intensive two-day program allowed our project partners from Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Slovenia and Finland to dive deeper into the key themes, objectives and timelines of the project. Also, for the first time we got to meet each other in person. It is essential to go through the themes and objectives of the project together face to face, as many issues become more acute and easier to get your head around on when you can discuss them on the same table.
Alongside the project work, we also visited one of the pilot sites of our project, Banyoles, and got to experience its beautiful lake area with its activities. The lake is a former paddling venue for the 1992 Olympics and still a very popular training site for paddlers, both locally and around the world. It was interesting to hear and see about the watershed area and blue spaces connected to it with its challenges.
